High Fidelity (an Interlude)

AU begins in Season 6 BtVS, starting shortly after "Entropy". As in canon, we begin with Giles in England and Spike off to Africa on a quest. Departing from canon: Giles reassesses his life while in England, and Spike's trials lead him to a "conscience" and a new attitude. What results in the following series: friendship; high adventure; comedy; British men (including Wesley) behaving badly; Spike & Buffy; Giles & Anya; London settings; the Council of Watchers; and a devotion to Elvis Costello which is frankly obsessive. Written between April and August 2002.
